Main objectives
  • Raising awareness and information giving about workplace health promotion and age management,
  • Establishing networks,

  • Institutionalising the process of healthy and productive ageing to assure sustainability

  • Supporting organisations with workplace health promotion (3 organisations were supported in a holistic way),
  • 10 workshops to start networking activities among small enterprises
Evaluation  no
Main results
  • A quantitative survey during the project (N=1006) with older people from the region of Oberpinzgau showed that older people want personal development and challenge at their workplace, and they want to work in inter-generational networks. App. 43% stated to be completely healthy, 1/5 stated to suffer from chronic illness.
  • All measures which were implemented in this one-year project were only successful because of a high personnel and administrative effort. The project would have benefited from a longer duration in general. The awareness in regional media, the work with employees, the application of innovative health promoting strategies, and the development of awareness on healthy and productive ageing can be summarized as very positive in the Federal State of Salzburg
  • • The public was sensitized with the quantitative survey and the Forumtheater about healthy ageing,
  • • Small enterprises were introduced to the topic and participated in networking,
  • • Individuals and older employees were supported with the ABI Coaching,
  • • Organisations were counselled to produce a method of dealing with „productive ageing“

Background Information on Database

The aim of the second phase of the healthPROelderly project was to collect models of good practice in the area of health promotion for older people. One of the main activities in this project phase was to elicit criteria by which to choose such models in each of the participating countries. The exclusion criteria and inclusion criteria were elicited by all project partners on the basis of the literature overview of health promotion for older people carried out in the first project phase. Project partners searched for models in their countries by: 1) using the literature databases they had compiled; 2) by using health promotion databases and other information available on internet and 3) by consulting their national boards and other experts.
