the project

The overall aim of the healthPROelderly-project was to promote health promotion for older people through producing evidence based guidelines with recommendations for potential actors in this field. It was carried out from April 1, 2006 until December 31, 2008.

17 partners in 11 European countries have carried out a literature review compiled a database and analysed selected models of good practice in their countries in detail. This work was summarized as guidelines and recommendations for people who would like to set up health promotion initiatives for older people. Also a summary of project results geared mainly towards policy makers was compiled.

An international conference Warsaw took place in May 2008 to introduce and discuss the project results with practitioners and other experts in the field of healthy ageing. Specifically, the compiled guidelines were discussed and elaborated in working groups.
