the project

The overall aim of the healthPROelderly-project is to promote health promotion for older people through producing evidence based guidelines with recommendations – on EU, national and local levels – for potential actors in this field. It began on April 1, 2006 and runs until December 31, 2008.

The project "healthPROelderly" addresses health promotion for older people on a European level. 17 partners in 11 European countries have been carrying out a literature review, compiling a database and analysing selected models of good practice in their countries in detail. This work is being summarized as guidelines and recommendations for people who would like to set up health promotion programmes for older people.

An international conference Warsaw took place in May 2008 to introduce and discuss the project results with practitioners and other experts in the field of healthy ageing. Specifically, the compiled guidelines were discussed and elaborated in working groups. Results and pictures of the conference can be found here.
